Heinz tomatoes is a determinate, mid-season tomato variety that was developed primarily for Eastern Canada and the Northeast U.S. Seeds. This tomato variety has produced very hearty, leafy plants in Central California fields that yield huge crops of 3”, bright-red, round, tomatoes. A very good canning tomato, sauce and salad tomato.
Yellow pear tomato plants may bear small fruits, but the vines themselves are anything but compact. In fact, vines can reach as tall as 12 feet. For that reason, the heirloom fruits, which are technically in the cherry tomato class, need a support structure such as a wire cage. Like other tomatoes, yellow pears also need well-timed supplements of fertilizer to support tomato fruit production. Watch for the tell-tale golden-yellow color to emerge, which indicates perfect ripeness.
Zucchini or courgette is a summer squash which can reach nearly a meter in length, but is usually harvested immature at 15 to 25 cm. In the British Isles, a fully grown zucchini is referred to as a marrow.
